TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Families and supporters of Children's rights will be at the Florida Capitol to talk about rights for foster youth, families and child welfare workers.

WTXL's Jada Williams was live Monday morning at the Florida State Capitol to discuss the event.

The Rally in Tally aims to remind those making the laws who those laws affect.

It's a two-day event. The first day will focus on more of the human element to child welfare.

Foster families, children's services and advocates will pack the state Capitol just to share their stories in a one-on-one meeting.

On Tuesday, the leaders with groups like the Florida Coalition for Children will meet with lawmakers to talk about the policy side of things.

By the end of the two-day rally, the group hopes the legislators can walk away with well-informed information.

Kurt Kelly is the Florida Children's Coalition CEO.

"The legislators, and I was a former legislator, I wanted to hear from folk," Kelly said. "I wanted to hear their stories. It meant a lot to me that when I started digging into the policy, I could put that face with the story, and then with the policy that I'm looking at, I could put that all together."

Day 1 starts at the Capitol at 9:30 a.m.
