TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that sent one person to the hospital.
TPD was dispatched just after 6:00p.m. Wednesday evening to a car accident involving a pedestrian. The accident happened at Monroe Street and Calloway Road.
According to TPD Patrol Officers, they found a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Monroe Street near the intersection. First responders, along with TPD officers immediately provided emergency medical treatment and the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators with TPD's Traffic Homicide Unit are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. One southbound lane of Monroe Street is currently open with all others closed for scene integrity.
