TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -  It’s time to grab your helmets and dust off your bikes! This Saturday, the ‘Science of Speed’ aims to prepare bike riders for the ‘Champions Ride’ happening in February.

Beginning at 8 a.m., cyclists can meet with ride leaders just outside of RedEye Coffee on Bannerman Crossing.

Presented in part by Science of Speed, the event features rides between 12 and 100 miles in length.

The Champion Ride benefits the Hang Tough Foundation, with all net proceeds donated to the local organization.

The second annual event will take place on Feb. 24 and 25, 2018.

The Champions Ride has partnered with Ride for Hope and Jim's Ride to Breathe to create a new cycling race series, Tour de Tallahassee.

Aligned in their missions to benefit local causes, these three events will work together to bring together family fun with competitive racing in Florida's Capital City.
