LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — The entertainment complex at Walt Disney World has a new name.
Downtown Disney officially became Disney Springs on Tuesday after months of construction and promises of more on the way. A new restaurant, Morimoto Asia, opens to the public on Wednesday.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1FDtL1L ) reports the Disney Springs project was announced in 2013. The renovation includes an increase in dining, shopping and entertainment options that should be completed in 2016. Two parking garages and a new link to Interstate 4 are also in the works.
Disney Springs vice president Keith Bradford says the I-4 connector will open in October, easing traffic on Buena Vista Drive and offering more direct access to Disney Springs. One option on the ramp will include the ability to drive directly into the Disney Springs parking garage.
