TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University students plan to protest an upcoming speaking event by the university president, after he canceled a meeting with them last month
John Thrasher is scheduled to speak at a Tiger Bay Club event tomorrow.
The FSU Progress Coalition says they will be protesting the event outside of the Civic Center tomorrow at 11:15 a.m.
They say it's because he cancelled a meeting with them on January 14, that was supposed to address FSU's affiliation with the Charles Koch Foundation.
The FSU Progress Coalition says they are concerned about the university's academic freedom and the influence the foundation may have on FSU.
