Boston, Mass.,- WCVB News in Boston are reporting, former NFL star Aaron Hernandez has committed suicide in prison.
Corrections officers at the Souza Baranowski Correction Center in Shirley found Hernandez's body just after 3:00 Wednesday morning.
Initial reports indicate that he hung himself using a bed sheet attached to his cell window, but Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
Hernandez was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder, and was acquitted in a 2012 double murder last week.
He played for the patriots from 2010 until 2012, before that he played football for the University of Florida.
