SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - — A McAlpin woman is dead after authorities said she tried to get out of a moving vehicle early Saturday morning.

It happened just before 12:30am around 142nd Street and 111th Place in Suwannee County. Florida State Patrol said Sidney Wiley was driving eastbound on 142nd Street when his 28-year-old passenger, Catissa Kelsey, tried to get out of the moving car.

Authorities said Wiley kept driving and eventually ran her over. Kelsey was transported to Shands Live Oak where she was later pronounced dead.

At this time, FHP does not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing. Charges are pending further investigation.
