TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- It's time to start thinking about back to school immunizations.

The Department of Health in Leon County is encouraging parents to book appointments now.

Students entering Kindergarten or 7th grade in the 2016 - 2017 school year must have immunization documentation on file before the school year starts.

You can book appointments at the Roberts and Stevens Clinic Monday through Friday.

And they will have extended hours clinics on July 12 and July 18 until 6 p.m.

If you think you may have trouble paying for the appointment, the county says they will make sure you're covered.

"We actually offer vaccinations regardless of ability to pay we encourage folks to their primary care providers if they can but certainly they can come to us for the vaccinations and we actually can offer those at no cost primarily through at vaccination for children program, said Christopher Tittel with the Department of Health in Leon County.

Schools re-open on August 15.
