ADEL, GA. (WTXL)-- The Adel Police Department have released the 14 year old accused of shooting and killing a woman and her unborn child.
According to the Police Station, they have agreed to let Kadijah Adkinson's 14-year-old half brother be released from the detention center on a consent bond after a "lengthy discussion."
The boy was accused of shooting and killing his half sister and the unborn baby, Wednesday. After Police took Adkinson to Cook Medical Center she and her unborn child were pronounced dead. Authorities say they charged the boy with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Feticide, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person under 18.
Witnesses say they heard the gunshot, but did not see the shooting and according to friends and family the incident was an accident.
There is no word yet on any evidence uncovered from the autopsy the GBI performed on Friday and Adel Police are asking anyone with information to come forwards as the investigation continues.
