Deputy Taylor Paul was talking to the driver of a car that was involved in the crash.
When a black ford truck driven by David Mitchell traveling southbound on U.S. 319 crashed into the patrol car causing a chain reaction for the three vehicles.
Deputy Paul sustained minor injuries.
