Valdosta, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Middle School will be installing fencing around the perimeter of the track starting on March 17th.
Once the construction of the fencing project has been completed, the hours of availability for usage of the track will change. The priority is to maintain a safe, uninterrupted, educational environment. During the school day, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., the track will be closed to the public.
“If the public would like to come before the school day begins, after the school day ends or anytime on the weekends, we don't mind. However, when our school is in session, the new fencing will be closed and locked to make sure that our students are able to utilize the track for their physical education classes uninterrupted and safely,” said E. Martin Roesch, superintendent of Valdosta City Schools.
The project is expected to be completed by April 30th.
