TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- It's time for another meeting of the Tallahassee Writers Association, and this time it's all about looking back at our history.

September's special guest speaker is author Sandra Gail Lambert. TWA president Peggy Kassees says she speaks on how writers can meld history and story in a way that preserves the lives of people, especially marginalized people, that might otherwise be lost.

Lambert writes fiction and memoir. Excerpts of her novel, The River's Memory,  has and excerpts of it have won prizes from Big Fiction Magazine and the Saints and Sinners Short Fiction Contest.

The next meeting of the Tallahassee Writers Association is Thursday, September 17. It's at the American Legion at Lake Ella.

As always, you're invited to come early. The doors to the Legion will be open around 5 p.m.
