TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- The Longest Table is a new way to "meet and greet" with different people. The event is set for October 9th at 5:00 pm on FAMU Way. This is an opportunity for community members to step out of comfort zones and start a conversation with new people over hot a meal.
"We started our own effort at bringing part of our community together to have conversation." said Mayor of Tallahassee, Andrew Gillium.
Last October, about 400 neighbors and friends participated at last year's event. This gave residents the chance to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
About 1,000 people are expected to participate this year's event. For more information click here.
