Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)---Nearly one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer at least once in their lifetime. That's why the City of Tallahassee is painting the town pink to spread awareness. All of this ahead of National Breast Cancer Awareness month that kicks off tomorrow.
Officer David Northway from the Tallahassee Police Department joined us on Sunrise to discuss everything the department and city has planned and how you can get involved.
In support of raising awareness about breast cancer, city leaders are is asking you to wear pink during the month of October and especially on October 1st as part of "Go Pink Tallahassee-Paint the Town Pink Day".
The city is also encouraging residents to consider participating in two of the community-wide health activities during the month of October:
