TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- In a galaxy not so far away, you can see what it would be like if William Shakespeare wrote Star Wars.
The Southern Shakespeare Company is back for its third installment of its Bard Wars series.
It's a hybrid of two very different classics that have shaped pop culture throughout the centuries.
Organizers say, "Credit Ian Doescher with the brilliant idea of retelling the Star Wars stories in verse worthy of the Bard, thereby combining TWO of the Top Ten List of Obsessions on wemadethisup.com. Not that we’re biased, but you really haven’t lived until you’ve heard Darth Vader say to Luke, 'If thou wilt not fight, then thou shalt meet thy destiny.'"
Southern Shakespeare Company has previously put on two battles in the Bard Wars.
This latest one will help get fans geared for the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens opens Friday.
"Bard Wars: The Jedi Doth Return" is Wednesday, December 16 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Proof in Railroad Square.
