TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The City of Tallahassee is breaking ground on a new solar farm on the morning of Tuesday, May 30.

This solar farm is the first farm that the City of Tallahassee Utility customers will be able to take advantage of renewable solar energy provided by the new 20 mega-watt farm.

Officials say customers will pay 5 cents per kilo-watt instead of the cost of natural gas.

The new farm will be located on Springhill road behind the Tallahassee Airport.
