TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The countdown to Christmas has started.

The Living Christmas Story at the Killearn United Methodist Church is one way to ring in the season.

This is the 31st year for the event.

Anne Plagens, the cast coordinator joins Malcolm Hornsby on Second Cup to talked about this traditional event.

Living Christmas Story takes place December 8th, 9th & 10th at 6:30 p.m.

This is a free event.

You can drive through or jumped on a hayride.

The story of the birth of Jesus is retold on the church campus through six major scenes, including the Annunciation, the Angel and Shepherds, Mary and Joseph at the Inn, the Wisemen visiting King Herod's Court, the Nativity, and the Empty Cross of the Risen Christ.

Visitors can "follow the star" and visit Bethlehem on the night Jesus was born.

Park near the church and take a hay wagon or drive your own vehicle to view the scenes.

The production includes over 400 actors, backstage crew, and traffic control staff, as well as live animals.

The production is the church's gift to the community, so no entrance fee is collected, nor are donations accepted.
