SECOND CUP- Many are stepping forward and showing their support in the wake of the tragedy in Orlando.
One Blood says they are still in need of O-Positive, O-Negative and A-B Plasma.
They have two blood drives coming up.
The first will be in Thomasville on Monday, June 20th and the 2nd in Moultrie on Tuesday, June 21st.
One Blood says it's never seen a response like this for blood donations, but wants to remind everyone that it's important for donors to give regulary, and weeks' following the tragedy.
As more and more people line up to donate blood, WTXL's Christine Souders and Max Tsaparis shared a few tips provided by blood donation organizations.
1. Drink plenty of water before donating. It's important to be hydrated.
2. Food is important. Avoid fatty foods.
3. Wear short sleeves, or a shirt with sleeves that cab be rolled above the elbow. This makes it easier to check your blood pressure, plus your forearm needs to be exposed during donation.
4. List of medications. Donating while on certain medications could pose a major threat.
