TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Tallahassee Senior Center is hosting an event to raise awareness about Alzheimer's.
Sheila Salyer with Tallahassee Senior Center and Regina Sofer, a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Project talked with WTXL's Christine Souders on Midday about the event called "Reflections of the Rinestone Cowboy."
This is a movie screening and panel discussion for "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me."
The film presents a portrait of the music industry icon, Glen Campbell as he embarks on a farewell tour across three continents while struggling with Alzheimer's disease.
Campbell is most famously known for his country music, including 1975's Rhinestone Cowboy and Gentle on my Mind. He also was the host of "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," a show that helped lauched the careers of musicians.
He's recognized in the Country Hall of Fame and recipient of a Grammy Lifetime achievement award.
The event is free and being held Tuesday, March 29th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Tallahassee Senior Center at 1400 N. Monroe Street.
There will be a panel discussion following the film.
