Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)--It's something many of us never even think twice about.

We wake up in the morning, grab our toothbrushes, towels, and other accessories.

But for the Hope Center of Tallahassee, it's those little treasures that mean the world to the clients they serve.

The Hope Center is run by the Big Bend Homeless Coalition and they've been serving the community since 1986. Like any non-profit they depend on local support.

The shelter partners with Love and Faith Community Church and when the church heard that the shelter was in need, they turned to their members for help. In all, the church collected 730 items to help the families that the Hope Center serves.

Pastor Simmons says it's important that the church be the pillar of community service and it begins with hitting the streets.

"Our motto is to go out, get out and get obvious. So we're about spreading love and building faith and if we're not going to give and share, then we've got to change our name, Pastor Lamar Simmons".

It doesn't just stop here for Love and Faith. They're challenging other churches and organizations to get involved as well so that the Hope Center will never go without.
