Local Organization Hoping to End Bullying through use of Puppets

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Working to put an end to bullying with the help of puppets? That's what the foundation for Leon County Schools is doing for area students for the second year in a row.

Two schools will receive a live, original Musical Anti bullying puppet production (The Friendship Show) performed by BJs Party House Performers, teachers and illustrators, , and Filmed and animated in WTXL studios.

This K4 portion of the project also includes themed coloring pages, A puppet building workshop With materials and guest artists for a class period, and the gift of a Free puppet stage- that the students Will then be able to produce for their own in school productions for years to come..

Middle and High School students will be studying the Russian Memoir of Teodora Verbitzkya, and the paintings of Nadia Werbitzky (mother and daughter) whos works were discovered just outside of Tallahassee, underneath a house 16 years Ago. These works have been translated into the book "Two Regimes.... A Mothers Memoir of Wartime SUrvival" and excerpts of this book and the paintings are taught in our classrooms in history and art classes, theater and literature classes by our local educators, who have been writing the lesson plans for these local, state wide and National endeavors for the purpose of teaching our children about Bullying, War, and the effects of War- in our society ,and around the world.
