TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- If you're making Spring Break plans, don't forget about your passport!
The Leon County Clerk and Comptroller is making sure we can travel the world with ease, thanks to a week-long passport fair.
It's "one-stop shopping" to get everything you need, whether you're renewing your passport or getting one for the first time. Adult passports are good for 10 years; minor children's' passports are good for five years.
Officials say it can take at least six weeks for your application to be approved, so you shouldn't wait until the last minute.
Be sure you know before you go. Here's what you need to bring to apply for a new passport or renew your existing passport:
1. Proof of Citizenship
2. Proof of Identity
3. Passport photograph or you can purchase a photo at our office
4. Method of payment: The U.S. Department of State fee must be check, cashier's check or money order; the acceptance facility fee ($25) and the photo fee ($10) may be paid in cash, by check or credit card.
5. When applying for minor children's passports, both parents and children must be present.
The Passport Fair runs Monday, February 22 through Saturday, February 27; on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday is by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Everything is at the Clerk's Northeast Branch Office (1276 Metropolitan Blvd., #101).
