TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- The annual re-enactment of the Battle of Natural Bridge was held Sunday.
The historic state park hosted the a 2 day long event, highlighting the second largest civil war battle in Florida. The park is named for a natural bridge formed by the St. Marks River.
To commemorate the battle, participants like Jarvis Rosier, Sr., acted as Union troops marching from their naval landing at St. Marks Lighthouse to Natural Bridge.
"They've come out to enjoy this battle and watch what's going on, living history is what it is. You knowing what history is, is to know, but seeing it in living history form is to conceive it and really get a feel for what's going on, so that's what we do as re-enacters, we re-eanct the past in hopes of shaping the future," said Rosier.
The Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park is located east of Woodville.
