TALLAHASSEE, FL - Hurricane Season officially began June 1st.

On Sunrise we talked about an upcoming event to help you get prepared.

Build your Bucket: Preparation for the 2016 Hurricane Season is hosted by City of Tallahassee, Leon County and the Capital Chapter of the American Red Cross.

It's at the Red Cross Building on Easterwood drive.

It's Saturday, June 18th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This is a safety fair with demonstrations and exhibits.

The first 250 people will get a free disaster preparedness bucket.

20 community response groups will be on hand to teach you about collecting supplies, local resources and recovery after a disaster.
