Annual Event Provides Services to Homeless Veterans

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Denna Green-Corbett, a social worker with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Outreach visited Midday to talk about an upcoming event.

It's the North Florida Homeless Veterans Stand Down, April 22 & 23, 2016 at the North Florida Fairgrounds, 441 Paul Russell Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32301.

It's a free event at 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be services offered during the Stand Down. The following services that they will be able to access are as follows: Educational and Employment Healthcare Screenings, Prescriptions, Assessment for Permanent Housing, 12Step and PTSD/TBI Counseling, Free Local Bus Transportation, Legal Services and Veterans Court, Vision, Mental Health & Dental Exams, Meals, Haircuts/Hairstyling, Veterinary Services/Pet Therapy, VA Benefits/Claims Counseling, Drivers Licenses/State I.D.s, HIV/AIDS & Glucose Testing, Prizes and much more.
