TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- According to Florida Governor Rick Scott, more and more people from up north are making the Sunshine State their home.

The governor announced today that according to a recent US census survey the state leads the nation seeing an influx of people moving to the state from New York and Puerto Rico. Scott also says Florida’s economy is turning around creating nearly 175 thousand jobs.

The state also has the largest drop in unemployment in the nation since December 2010. The survey sites employment relocation and the reduction in housing cost as top reasons for moves.
