LAKE ALLATOONA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a woman reported missing after her jet ski was found floating at Lake Allatoona has been found dead.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/2cg8Wlb) reports Cherokee County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jay Baker says 49-year-old Letrise Portia Ross' body was found about 2 p.m. Monday in 4 feet of water. Her family reported her missing Sunday.
Baker says Ross left the Webster Ferry boat ramp near Red Top Mountain about 10 a.m. Sunday and was supposed to return about 1 p.m.
He says Ross' jet ski was found near a small island not far from Harbor Town Marina on Lake Allatoona about 5 p.m.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol helicopter unit and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assisted Cherokee sheriff's and fire officials in the search.
