NATIONAL SUMMARY
A very wintry day will unfold across the nation today, with
accumulating snow expected from coastal Washington through
the Interior Northwest, central Rockies, northern Plains and
portions of the Ohio Valley. Rain will mix with snow from
Iowa through Pennsylvania, with icy conditions developing in
parts of the mid-Atlantic as well. Warmer weather to the
south will lead to an all-rain event. Where flooding
occurred last week, heavy rain and storms will exacerbate
this threat across Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Otherwise, rain is expected throughout the southern U.S.
Only residents of the Desert Southwest, Upper Midwest, New
York and New England can anticipate dry weather.
