'Baby Doe's' Biological Father in Court for Arraignment of Girl's Mother and Her Boyfriend

BOSTON (AP) — Joseph Amoroso says he wants to show his support for the daughter he never met.

Amoroso is the biological father of the girl who became known as "Baby Doe." Her name was Bella Bond, and her body was found inside a trash bag on a Boston Harbor island in June. Authorities released her name on Friday.

Today, the girl's mother and her boyfriend were in court to be arraigned on charges stemming from the death of the two-year-old.

Michael McCarthy is charged with murder. Rachelle Bond is charged as an accessory after the fact.

Amoroso, the biological father, says Bond told him that her boyfriend had punched Bella in the stomach over and over again until she stopped breathing.

He says she told him that McCarthy "had murdered our daughter, stuffed her in a trash back and threw her in the ocean in South Boston."

Amoroso had previously told the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald that Bond told him McCarthy believed the child was possessed by demons, and that Bella had been dead for several weeks before her body was found.
