AREAL FLOOD WARNING

636 PM CST WED FEB 20 2019

...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM CST FOR

SOUTHWESTERN MADISON COUNTY...

At 631 PM CST, the public reported flooding across the warned area,

particularly in the vicinity of the Indian Creek Greenway. Although

rainfall has stopped, waters are very slowly receding on Indian

Creek with the stream gauge measuring levels holding steady around

the flood stage of 7.5 feet.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana, Marshall

Space Flight Center and Harvest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All

interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately. Be

especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as

well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
