...The National Weather Service in Huntsville AL has issued a Flood

Warning for the following rivers in Alabama based on forecasts from

the Tennessee Valley Authority...

Tennessee River AT Whitesburg affecting Madison...Marshall and

Morgan Counties

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...

A flood warning means that flooding along the river is imminent or

occurring. Move to higher ground to escape flood waters. Residents

living along creeks and streams should take immediate precautions to

protect life and property.

Interests along the Tennessee River should remain alert to rapidly

changing river conditions, and stay tuned for later forecast updates

from the Tennessee Valley Authority and the National Weather Service

forecast office in Huntsville.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville AL has issued a Flood

Warning for

the Tennessee River at Whitesburg.

* from this evening until further notice.

* At 8 AM Wednesday the stage was 16.2 feet and rising.

* Flood Stage is 17.0 feet.

* Minor Flooding is forecast by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

* Forecast from the Tennessee Valley Authority...Rise above Flood

Stage by late this evening and crest near 19.2 feet by Saturday

morning. The river is then forecast to begin to fall, but is

expected to remain above Flood Stage until further notice.

* Impact...At 19.0 feet...The entrance to the Ditto Landing area is

underwater...along with much of the boat harbor. Several roads in

northeastern Morgan County are underwater...and water is beginning

to approach a home on River Loop Road in the Laceys Spring

Community.

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.5 feet

on Mar 11 2011.
