The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has extended the

* Flood Warning for...

Central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama...

Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 1230 AM CST.

* At 912 PM CST, the public reported flooding in low lying areas of

Lauderdale and Colbert Counties due to two to three inches of rain

that has fallen in the past 48 hours. Additionally, Bear Creek at

Bishop is in Moderate Flood Stage and rising, causing additional

flood concerns along Bear Creek from Bishop into the Allsboro area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee,

Littleville, Lexington, St. Florian and Underwood-Petersville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All

interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Indian Creek. The Indian Creek Greenway will likely remain

submerged for the next several hours with flooding in low lying

areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana,

Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses

as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. Be especially

cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of

flooding.
