TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A woman is suing El Jalisco for over $15,000 in damages after falling off the restaurant's donkey statue and fracturing her spine.

According to the lawsuit document, Kimberly Bonn is suing El Jalisco Southwood Mexican Restaurant for over $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs, and attorneys' fees.

On August 31, 2015, Bonn went to the restaurant for dinner. After dinner, she climbed up a life-size statue of a donkey at the restaurant to have her picture taken.

At some point, Bonn slipped off the back of the statue and fell hard to the floor, sustaining significant injuries, including a fractured spine.

The document said that Bonn is suing because the restaurant failed to place any safety features (a saddle, ladder, stepping stool, etc.) on the statue, yet invited customers to climb on it for entertainment purposes.

Bonn's attorneys assert that as a result of the restaurant's negligence, she suffered bodily injury, saying that the losses are either permanent or continuing, affecting the future.

The lawsuit was submitted on February 3rd, 2017.
