VALDOSTA, Ga. —Valdosta police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg outside his own home. This is just one of three shootings that took place in Valdosta on Tuesday, July 30.

The incident happened at around 10 p.m., according to police. The victim told police he was outside his residence, which is located on East Jane Street, when someone came up behind him and shot him in the leg. The victim said that after the shots were fired, two men ran east on East Jane Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and police say his injuries don't appear to be life threatening.

Due to the ongoing investigation, the victim's name is being withheld. The suspect is still at large and may pose a threat to the victim.

At this time, police are looking into the fact that this shooting may be connected to the two other shootings—one on Martin Luther King Drive and another at Gordons Food Mart—that happened on the same day. Police say that this link is not confirmed at this time.
