Police: Suspects force employees into cooler during armed robbery

MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - The Marianna Police Department is looking for two suspects who robbed a local Subway and forced employees into a cooler within the restaurant. 

On Thursday at about 3:09 p.m., MPD officers along with the Davie Police Department received a call in reference to an armed robbery in progress at Subway on Lafayette street.

Before officers arrived the suspects fled the scene. A K-9 tracking team was used but they were unable to find the suspects.

Officers said two black men entered the store with guns, demanded money and forced employees into a cooler within the restaurant.

When the employees exited the cooler, the suspects were no longer inside the restaurant. The employees were able to exit the store safely and contacted law enforcement.

MPD stated one suspect is between 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2, dark skinned black man, 170 pounds, and was wearing a green traffic vest and had a gray shirt covering his mouth. The second suspect was described as a light skinned black man, between 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-10, 120 pounds, with black hair and was wearing a red and black shirt with a gray hood.

MPD is still investigating the incident.
