MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Oscar continues to weaken and speed up in the Atlantic as upper level winds continue to carry the storm north and northeast, away from land.
As of the 5:00am advisory, Oscar was a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. It was located 660 miles ENE of Bermuda, moving NE at 22 mph. Aside from high surf and elevated rip current hazards from Oscar, Bermuda will avoid any impacts from the storm.
The storm is expected to become non-tropical later tonight, though it will likely still maintain strong winds.
