The tropics remain very tranquil as the Atlantic Ocean is dominated by dry air and shear. A few models have some development of a tropical wave coming off the African coast, but either way currently we are in a lull regarding hurricane season. On the flip side, a low pressure system is currently over the Florida Strait and is scheduled to bring more moisture to our region by the weekend. Interesting enough this low pressure system actually has a 10% chance of developing into a true tropical system. With that being said, I highly doubt this development will occur as the disturbance is highly disorganized. In the end, it will likely just bring more moisture and elevate our rain chances come this weekend.
