MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The strong tropical wave we've monitored for the last several days (deemed Invest 97L by the National Hurricane Center) still has a 90% chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm in the next two days. Models still latch onto this system moving virtually due west through the weekend, with some having this system as a hurricane by that time. Beyond the weekend, there are still big questions as to where it will go. Some models suggest the system in the Gulf of Mexico while others have the storm turning north toward the Bahamas. Even with the lack of certainty, this is a good reminder to double check your Hurricane Preparedness plan.
