MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Leslie continues to approach hurricane strength, and a Caribbean disturbance near Central America has a small, but growing chance of tropical development.
Leslie: As of the latest advisory, maximum sustained winds are at 70 mph. The tropical storm is expected to become a hurricane on Wednesday. After a southwest movement, the storm will turn back to the north, staying over the open water not directly impacting land.
A disturbance in the western Caribbean Sea has a 30% chance of tropical development in the next five days. It'll be moving slowly to the north through the week. At this point in time, the system doesn't appear to pose a threat to the U.S., but it will continue to be closely monitored for development.
