MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Nicole has quickly organized into a healthy Category 2 hurricane. As of the 5am advisory by the National Hurricane Center, maximum sustained winds are at 100 mph. The storm has a clear and large eye, and Bermuda is under a Hurricane Warning due to the imminent threat of the hurricane as it nears. Whether or not the storm makes landfall, the close approach will increase winds, seas, and heavy rains. It will continue to accelerate to the northeast as a cold front picks it up and carries it further north.

No other Tropical threat exists at this time, but remember that the Hurricane Season DOES NOT end until November 30th. October still has the potential to produce tropical cyclones. Be sure to log in to WTXL.TV/Weather/Hurricane_Center for the latest checks and updates.
