The tropics are beginning to awaken as we have 2 areas of interest, currently. The first is actually in the Gulf of Mexico near the Yucatan Peninsula. This system is actually relatively weak and poses no threat to the United States. It is predicted to continue to move to the west bringing rain to Mexico, but not much more than that. As for the other area of interest, well it is located southeast of Puerto Rico and moving towards the northwest. It actually has a 50% chance of development in the next few days as it looks to move over the island of Hispaniola as well as into the Bahamas by this weekend. Overall, this system is still very far from the United States and no threat is imminent. However, here at the Storm Team we will bring you the latest tropical updates.
