MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The buzz for the last few days has been focused on "Hurricane Matthew". This update will cover the progression of the system, along with an update on Tropical Storm Nicole and a new disturbance to watch.

MATTHEW: The Hurricane has weakened due to land interaction from Cuba and Haiti. The latest advisory has maximum sustained winds at 125 mph, with the storm still moving north at 10 mph. The north and central Bahamas are under Hurricane Warnings as well as Florida's east coast, stretching from Broward county north to near the Melbourne area. Hurricane Watches are in effect north of that, toward the Jacksonville Beach area. The storm IS NOT EXPECTED to be have a significant impact to the Big Bend and South Georgia. However, if near I-75 and east, you may see spotty showers with breezy conditions.

NICOLE: The tropical storm has sustained winds of 55 mph and it is no threat to the U.S. The storm may interact with Matthew in the long-term, forcing Matthew to stall in the Atlantic.

ELSEWHERE: A tropical disturbance east of the Caribbean has a 20% chance of developing in five days. Guidance suggests this will continue moving west into the Caribbean.
