A ridge of high pressure remains in the north Atlantic Basin. It would prevent tropical development in the Atlantic, but the National Hurricane Center is focusing on an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico. The low is producing scattered showers and thunderstorms. The cluster of storms is moving towards the western Gulf of Mexico and has about a 10% chance of undergoing further development within the next 48 hours.

Tropical moisture continues to push into north Florida, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. The storms could produce gusty winds, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.
