MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Otto weakened slightly into a strong tropical storm, located a short distance from the southern Nicaragua coastline. Before expected landfall Thursday, Otto may regain hurricane strength. The system is forecast to cross the central American landscape and emerge into Pacific Ocean waters. The storm will not threaten the U.S. in any way.
Stronger upper-level winds across the rest of the tropical Atlantic basin will forbid any significant development of tropical disturbances.
