MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The only disturbance in the tropical Atlantic with any chance to develop is located just north of Antigua and Barbuda in the northern Leeward Islands. The window of opportunity for strengthening should close in the next 24 to 36 hours, and stronger upper-level winds produce wind shear which would destroy the system's structure and force it quickly to the north.
Waves of moisture in the southern latitudes of the north Atlantic will also encounter fast upper-level winds, and development of those waves is not likely to occur.
