MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- There are two points of development potential, both in the Atlantic Ocean:

  1. A cluster of moisture south of Bermuda is being influenced by the effects of a departing upper-level trough. There has been some development around a low-pressure center, which has increased confidence in future strengthening efforts. The atmospheric conditions are marginally favorable for  more organization over the next couple of days.  The system is projected to drift west, then north, by the weekend.  Chances for impacts in the United States are slim to nil.
  2. In the southern edge of the North Atlantic, a disturbance has been able to contract its circulation around a low-pressure center. A low-end chance for further organization exists. Strengthening will likely be stalled by cooler-than-average water temperatures and a drier upper atmosphere near the system.

Other spots of moisture in the Atlantic basin don't carry much promise for future organization through the rest of this week.
