MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A stretch of clouds and moisture continues to lurk in the western Caribbean Sea this midweek, with little to no short-term organization occurring. By the end of the week, the disorganized system may be capable of forming a better-organized low-pressure center over warm waters, and slight strengthening is possible as it drifts north. A strong cold front enter the northern Gulf region this weekend would likely cause the system to turn to the northeast. Some extra moisture is possible in the southern Florida peninsula during the weekend, but organization into a tropical depression or stronger is difficult to decipher.
Either way, the possible system would not have a direct impact on conditions here in the Big Bend, other than slightly more moisture for the front to create showers late Saturday.
There are no other areas of concern in the Atlantic basin.
