MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Upper-level winds remain active across the Bahamas and the northern sections of the Caribbean, creating patches of moisture and rain.  The swifter winds aloft will inhibit any organization of these features.

An ongoing flare-up of moisture and rain hugging the coast of central America also doesn't show indications of immediate strengthening.

Long-range trends will have to be monitored.  Though there are no impending or definite signs of development through the rest of this month, the Bermuda high regularly over the Atlantic is forecast to shift slightly to the east.  This repositioning may make it easier for systems that form in the western Caribbean to move more to the north, theoretically exposing more of the Gulf of Mexico to possible storm impacts, if they were to form.

Again, this situation is not set in stone, and much more forecast data will be available before any specific threat is identified.
