MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Gaston, as of mid-afternoon Wednesday, had shown progressive development and is on the verge of becoming the season's third hurricane.

A ragged tropical wave just east of Puerto Rico remains poor in structural development, but rich in moisture and rain production for some of the Greater Antilles islands in the next 24 hours.  This system still has a high potential to organize into a tropical depression or storm.  More details on this system is provided in the Hurricane Center section of wtxl.tv.
