Tropical Storm Barry strengthen over the southernmost part of the Bay of Campeche Wednesday afternoon. The storm continues to move in a westerly fashion and will reach the Mexican coast tonight or Thursday. Barry has no local implications on the weather pattern.
A wave of moisture is encountering strong upper-level winds near Puerto Rico and the Greater Antilles while moving in a west-northwest direction. Concerns for future development are quite low at this time; nonetheless, it will still be monitored.
There are no other areas of immediate development across the Atlantic basin.
